The ARC Training Centre in Surface Engineering for Advanced Materials (SEAM), will host a panel discussion that aims to address the challenges and opportunities in Australia for key areas in Additive Manufacturing across different sectors where surface engineering is a critical technology.
Aims of the forum include discussing opportunities and barriers in training a skilled workforce, optimising gender and ethnic diversity, strategies to attract and onshore the best talent, including domestic students, and strategies to deliver research outcomes during a global pandemic.
This event will be moderated by Professor Alan Duffy (Swinburne) and we will hear from a range of specialist industry panel members: Professor Virginia Kilborn (Swinburne), Dr Matthew Young (IMCRC), Mr Peter Richings (MTSA), with Department of Home Affairs representatives Ms Michelle Tuchin and Mr Matthew Mennilli (Business, Industry and Regional Outreach Officers (BIROs) representing Victoria and Tasmania for the Department of Home Affairs) and Ms Menchu Corbitt (Global Talent Officer (GTO) for the Australia/Pacific).
We invite members from industry, academia and the broad global community to join us in leading the conversation to identify gaps and opportunities that will shape the future of Australian manufacturing across a range of sectors with a global outreach.
