ANZ Business Centre in Bayswater were the host venue for the collaboration event together with BBP. The focus of the event was to convey the value and purpose of SEMMA to manufacturing businesses within BBP and encourage them to also become members of SEMMA.
SEMMA Executive Officer, Adrian Boden spoke about SEMMA being an a-political body with strong relationships with local, state and federal government to act as a voice for manufacturers in the South East region. Adrian also highlighted a number of areas that SEMMA have been active in advocating for its members, including portable long service leave extension, automotive transition plan and additional public holidays to name but a few.
Most enlightening was the presentations from the SEMMA Board members about why they joined SEMMA and how SEMMA has assisted them to advocate to Government on their behalf and find solutions to problems they may have had. In addition to the opportunity to make connections with potential customers and expanding their supply chain.
BBP and SEMMA have formed a partnership both providing a similar focus on strengthening business and manufacturing in the south east.
