DAIR Industries was formed in 2001, following the acquisition of Dura Asia-Pacific by DAIR Holdings Pty Ltd. Dura Asia-Pacific was previously known as Reom Industries, up until the company was acquired by Dura Automotive Systems in late 1997.
The original company commenced business in 1963 as a tooling designer and manufacturer. By 1969, the company had established itself as a component supplier to the rapidly emerging Australian automotive sector, and since that time has built on this strong foundation.
DAIR Industries moved its Victorian operation into a new state-of-the-art 12,000m2 manufacturing facility in Dandenong South in late 2002.
We hold TS16949 and ISO14001 accreditations. Today, our customers include Toyota, Holden, Ford, and key Tier 1 suppliers.
While DAIR has only minor direct exports to South Africa, South America and Europe, we have a major presence in exported vehicles such as the Camry and the VE Commodore. Approximately 40% of what we sell to the OEMs goes into vehicles which are exported around the world.
The Company has experienced an increase in employment and sales of 50% over the past 4 years and in relative terms, this growth is unprecedented in the industry and is due to the dedication and commitment of the people who make DAIR what it is today and what it will be in the future, coupled with a clear strategy and a fierce determination to be the best.
DAIR Industries is clearly ‘bucking the trend’ in respect of Australian automotive component suppliers.
We are proud to be an Australian–owned company that can mix it with the best in the world.
